THE BREAST PLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS 

 

 

 

I love this.  🌻
I love the idea of a breast plate of righteousness.

To protect my core.

My heart.

• makes me think of Proverbs:
• Guard your heart with all diligence,
• For out of it flow the issues of life.

One way I do this

is by being very scrupulous about

what goes into my eyes 👀 and ears.

I’m super careful about media.

I have to be.

Because of my sexual addiction ( romance novels, basically can be soft pornography and affect my brain just like a drug) I don’t let myself go in that area.  I keep myself on a short leash.

That’s part of my sobriety.

Also, I seldom let a critical or gossipy statement (or yucky image) go in to my brain unchallenged.
(Like if my kids fuss about my hubby to me.)

(Even if I agree privately that the boundary is a little overthetop)
I say the truth

1. Your father and I love you…………………………………………….truth
2. Your father works very hard to provide for his family……truth
3. He wants more than anything to be a good dad..…………..truth
4. You heard what Daddy said…now go do it…………………….truth

Then it’s like it’s refiled in my brain under

• Trust God. Not in my box.
• Instead of
• Hubby is a control freak

That’s one way I stay vigilant.
